MPOX Outbreak in the Philippines?

Concerned agencies have been given instructions by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to keep an eye on the people and places that are thought to be primarily susceptible to mpox, also known as monkeypox.

In a meeting with Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa and other authorities on Tuesday, Marcos stated, “Continue surveillance especially on areas and people most vulnerable to the disease.”

Immunocompromised individuals are particularly susceptible to mpox, according to Herbosa.

He informed Marcos that since last year, the Department of Health has documented 10 cases of mpox.

According to the Health Chief, every patient has recovered.
